An Ilkley mum who’s little girl is battling a fatal heart condition is raising money for the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund by selling little bags of ‘reindeer’ food throughout Ilkley. Olivia was born with an irreparable heart defect, which saw her undergo 18 hours of surgery just weeks after coming into the world. Since then, she has received palliative treatment and has recently undergone a second, ten-hour open heart operation at Leeds General Infirmary. She is now home and keeping her parents busy – what toddlers do best.
Reindeer feed bags
The bags are sold for 50p. You just sprinkle a bit of the reindeer food outside your house on Christmas eve and you are guaranteed a visit from Santa!
The bags are currently on sale at the Ilkley Pet shop, Ilkley Cutting Emporium, Shoo bee doo, The doctors surgery on Springs Lane, the physiotherapy department at Coronation Hospital and North Parade fish and chip shop.
The Heart Surgery Fund
All monies raised will be handed directly to ward 10 for the playroom. The money is used to buy toys, equipment as required but also for trips out at Christmas for children that are able to leave the ward. Last year they went to the local theatre to see a pantomime and bought sensory equipment.
Ward 10 is covered by The Childrens Heart Surgery Fund.
Please help support such a great cause.
