Baby at Swimbabes class
When: Classes are run on Monday & Tuesday mornings until lunchtime. You enrol for a term of 10 weeks.
Where: Chevin Country Park Hotel, Otley, LS21 3NU, Tel : 01943 467818 There are also other venues that are not too far from Otley Chevin at Leeds University Momentum Leisure and Esporta health club in Cookridge.

Cost: The first baby swim course includes a baby swim kit and the total cost is £115. Thereafter subsequent courses are just £97. For all bookings a donation of £1 is made to the Children’s Heart Surgery Fund in Leeds.
Transport: There is a car park at the Hotel.
Age restrictions: 4 weeks to 18 months.
Equipment required: The pool requires babies to wear swim nappies and a Happy Nappy . The fee for your first term includes 5 swim nappies and a Happy Nappy. You could also invest in a wetsuit so that baby doesn’t get too cold (although the pool is heated to a minimum of 32C).

The classes are taught by qualified instructors, who have received extra training to teach these classes. The class lasts around half an hour (which is long enough for little ones) and the class size is kept small (between 6 and 10 babies).
You may want to take your baby to the local pool to check that he/she likes swimming (most do) before paying up front for a term of classes.
