MoorMums says:

The midwives run a variety of ante-natal classes – evening classes for couples that cover what to expect during labour and the basics of looking after a newborn, daytime classes for mums only that cover topics such as breastfeeding and real nappies.

These classes can be very helpful as the midwife will know your local hospital specifically and give you information about what pain relief is available there or top tips on what to take to hospital.

You can also ask your midwife to be referred to the pregnancy and labour classes run by the physiotherapists.  These cover helpful exercises to do during pregnancy and in preparation for labour.

Always check that the class is running before setting off. Share your views on the class with other mums-to-be in our baby chat section.
