After having a difficult pregnancy (consultant care due to a congenital lung condition) meant that I was initially having a planned c section, however the condition improved so much in the final weeks that I was told I could try naturally but would probably need a c section if the baby got into difficulty.
Anyway on the 5th of July, I started with pains at 1am I wasn't sure what they were as it was completely different to first time round, thought it could be braxton hicks, or just the baby getting into position.
But by 2 am I thought I'd better phone my mum to come and get evie so I could go to the hospital. There was still no rush, however the pain became unbearable (not contractions just constant agony) apparently I was having a back to back labour.
Thinking about it now it's quite funny but at 3 am walking to the car I just screamed at mum and DH I need to push. The worst 20 minutes in the car trying not to push, got out of the car and had baby number two in the corridoor at Harrogate hospital, didn't make it to the ward.
Feel really pleased to have not needed a C section, but it was really scary. I thought that Lily wouldn't survive the birth if she didn't have medical intervention due to her lung condition, but she came out screaming. However, she had no breathing difficulties and the lung cyst that was diagnosed on a 12 week scan is now so small that it's not affecting anything and she probably won't even need it removing but we won't know that until she's a bit bigger.
just wanted to say if you are on second babies get to the hospital quick as labours tend to be a LOT quicker. Mine was 2 1/2 hours from start to finish but I was only really aware I was in labour for 1 1/2.
