Anyone had pre-eclampsia?

Hi there,
Haven't been to the forum for a while but was just wondering if anyone has had the experience of PE for any pregnancy. I'm now 20 weeks pregnant of my 2nd pregnancy after suffering with PE for my first. Have now got to the stage of lots of checks/ scans which I get nervous for. What advice would any one give for coping with all this medical stuff and it not effecting my BP.

this is a bit of a late response to your post - but I just read it and it struck cord with me. I had PE at the very end of my pregnancy. My blood pressure went nuts to be honest, sent the machines into hyper drive. However I had no other symptoms; headaches, pains etc. In the end the hospital freaked me out more than my body was. They monitored the life out of me before baby was born and after. It took a long time for the blood pressure to go right . Now i'm fine.

At one doctors appointment he asked me if i wanted another baby and I said I wasn't sure as the PE seemed a bit serious and his response was that there are worse things you can get in pregnancy.

In the end the hospital induced my labour and to behonest, in retrospect this may have been unnecessary as I felt fine and the baby was fine too.

Thanks Jane. It's nice to know that others have been though the same expeience, although I would never wish it on anyone. So far so good with this pregnancy and I'm feeling quite positive.
