Am meeting some work colleagues in town soon & am hoping to find a suitable cafe where I can breastfeed in public for the first time!
Also are there any shops which have nappy changing facilities? Pity Mothercare isn't in the centre.
Thanks
Clare

Hi Clare,
Great to have you back! Hope it is all going well. It gets a lot easier after the first 6 weeks.
What's your little boy's name, what's he like???
I hope you are enjoying our birth stories feature. Please get in touch if you would like to write yours. I hope it went well.
Best wishes

Hi Clare, hope this helps;
Leeds Library, or any other Leeds museum cafes are excellent. The cafe at Leeds Library is superb as well and has tons of space and nappy changing facilities etc.

Leeds City Museum on Millennium sq is great as well, with another good cafe;

Because they are such big cafe's you can always get a private place if you are new to breast feeding in public...there are always lots of mums and prams there.
Nappy changing - both the above have facilities. TK Maxx has disabled toilets with baby changing. All starbucks, Costa, Nero have baby changing but some are upstairs toilets so care needed with some of them. M&S has facilities too.
If you know where abouts you are going I know Leeds very well so could give more suggestions, but if you do not have any plans yet, would go for tiled cafe in Leeds Library if only for the beauty of the place ( and the fantastic cakes!!!)
Good luck, Lucinda
Go luck

Hi
We've used the baby changing facilities on the top floor in The Light. There is more than enough room to get the pram in with you and, there's a cubicle for adults too!
There's good seating so that you can get comfortable to feed and, as an extra added bonus, it smells reasonable in there too which is a rarety!!

Hi,
I went to Leeds today with Jack (who is 6 months old) and we went to the Tiled Cafe. It is a beautiful room & the food is very good. As already said it is a very large room with plenty of space for buggies/prams although there did appear to only be two highchairs. There are babychanging facilities in the gallery but the door is quite narrow
I also found a babyroom upstairs in Boots & we used the changing at Leeds Train staion which was much better than I expected....hope it helps. I also went in to Cafe Nero near Boots & there is quite a lot of room for buggies
