Hi all,
I just wanted to share something in the hope that others have or are experiencing the same! I'm 12 weeks pregnant with my second, and whilst we are thrilled, I'm not so thrilled with how huge I feel this time! I'm definitely showing and bloating up in the evening. By about 7pm, I look about 6 months and am already in maternity clothes. Also, at my booking appt, i was weighed and told i was 'high risk' as I have a BMI of 31. I'm quite horrified I'm considered 'obese' as I know I don't look it. I'm concerned I'm going to be absolutely huge, but I am being careful what I eat, and trying to exercise. Other Mums, the midwife etc say it's perfectly normal to show much earlier second time around, but I feel huge. Has anyone else gone through this, and any tips? I only put on an average amount of weight first time and lost it quite easily breast feeding. Looking forward to your comments

Oh i know exactly how you feel!! I instantly felt massive the second i found out and kept growing and growing!! Im now 26wks and definately HUGE!! midwife measured me at 24wks and i was measuring 28cm so may have to go for growth scan.. I guess that if your going to put the weight on you cant stop it as ive tried eating healthier etc and still i look
Bigger daily!!

Hope you feel better about it soon.

I felt huge second time round too. I started wearing maternity trousers at 10 weeks as my normal ones were too tight. My other half actually said he thought I shouldn't go out to meet up with people as they would guess straight away I was expecting. As it turned out, no one noticed.

Also, I saw you yesterday Louise, and if it is any comfort, I didn't think you looked big at all. In fact, I wouldn't have said you looked pregnant. And as you know, I wouldn't say that if i didn't mean it.

I must say though, I really am struggling with loosing the weight after no 2. I don't really have time (although I could be doing exercise now rather than loafing on the sofa), but it seems more that I have lost the muscle tone. I'm hoping it will come back one day. Hopefully, you won't have the same problem and it will all just ping back into place.

All the best

J

Hi Louise

Yes, I was 'showing' v early on too. Infact some of my work colleagues had been discussing whether I was pregnant or not before i announced it at 12 weeks.
I dread to think how big my belly would be if I had a 3rd :)
I swim twice a week & do lots of walking with Ethan. I'm sure breastfeeding will help get us back to "normal" too, don't worry.
I am now 41 weeks (!) pregnant. Hopefully baby will decide to make an entrance before my induction day of Saturday.

Good luck for a healthy pregnancy.

thankyou for your comments, it does make me feel better! It's also the whole BMI thing too, made me feel awful!
Jess, thanks for your kind words.
Clare, long time no see...41 weeks, wow. Good luck, I hope the birth goes well.
I'll send you a message on facebook, maybe we can take up the walks again after you've had no2. I'm going to be living in Baildon for a while soon, just round the corner from you, so will be easier to meet up!
Thanks again
Louise
