View Full Version : Bizarre Dreams

It turns out that for the last few months I have been waking my other half up in the night saying 'don't just sit there go & get him, he's going to fall in the toilet' 'You're lying on him, move! move!" (which is even stranger as Jack doesn't come in with us) and other such bizarre things.
I have no recollection of any of this but apparently I am very insistent & each time it gives my hubby a bit of a scare.

Is anyone else doing this or on the recieving end? Or am I just slowly losing my mind?

Both rich and I were doing the same thing in the early days. One or both of us would wake up convinced we'd fallen asleep with J in the bed and that he was lost somewhere in the covers!! He never was thankfully - and after the first couple of months we didnt think he was anymore. Dont think you're going mad - must be your maternal concerns coming up to the surface...

It sounds a bit airy fairy but I saw somewhere about managing dreams by doing affirmations before going to sleep - so it might be worth trying repeating something like "my baby is safe and well..." ... a few times over before you go to bed and see if that helps.

Good luck - hope those dreams stop for you soon.

I used to do this but did not (yet...) speak in my sleep - I would wake up frantically patting the bed around me thinking I had fallen asleep with baby, or that I had left him somewhere random like the bathroom floor... Happens occassionally still, when really tired, and despite the fact that Maxwell is in his own room and not even fed anywhere near our bed!

If you are losing your mind you are certainly not alone!! However, do reckon it is just our natural maternal concerns :)
