Hi,
I am currently 21 weeks pregnant (due mid January) with our first and live in Ilkley. I am looking into antenatal class options and they seem to be:
Offsprings
Lazy Daisy birthing
NCT
NHS provided classes
Has anyone booked any of these in the past and have advice and suggestions?
Thanks!

We went to NCT classes (great to meet people) and NHS classes (great to get detailed info on pain relief).
There is hypnobirthing classes and pregnancy yoga (http://www.moormums.co.uk/pregnancy/classes/) to consider as well. Depends what you think will suit you.
Congratulations on your pregnancy! Hope you are enjoying it.
The other thing to say, is that there will be loads of opportunities to meet new mums once you've had the baby. There is so much going in Ilkley, it is a fantastic place to bring up children.

I did have a look at the nct options in the area but the only one seems to be skipton as the ilkley one hasn't had any take up and there doesn't seem to be a burley one now. You're right though, there seems to be so much to do! Thanks for the advice!

Hey,
We just went to the ones at Springs medical centre before we had Josh. To be honest we didn't learn anything I hadn't already read up on but it was nice to meet other couples who are expecting at the same time as you. I also went to the post-natal classes at the medical centre and many of the mum's from ante-natal were there, and a year and a half later we are all still great friends, as are the little ones!
This time round I have just started pregnancy yoga and found it so wonderfully relaxing after a stressful day at work and running around after a 17 month all week! Wish that I had done it 1st time round
xx
