We've been contacted by an Ilkley mum asking if we've got any tips for meeting other mums.

We suggested:

1. It might be a good idea to start a new thread on the MoorMums forum introducing yourself and saying that you'd like to meet other local mums.

2. You might like to come along to the new mum walks on Thursday afternoons - there are a couple of younger mums that come to those, but the "old" mums who go are very nice too. Details are posted weekly in the events calendar (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/events/).

3. Local toddler groups can be very scary especially with a little baby. The health visitors run a group (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/mum-and-baby-groups/postnatal-support-group-ilkley/) on Thursday mornings. That's a good place to meet mums of babies the same age.

4. There is a music group (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/classes/music-movers-ilkley/) at Christchurch on Tuesday mornings. It is only £1 and it is quite friendly. But there are loads of this type of thing around Ilkley - just have a browse through our classes (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/classes/) and groups (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/mum-and-baby-groups/) pages to see what takes your fancy.

5. The swings down by the river are also a great place to meet other mums. I'm rubbish at accosting people so I just wait for people to come up to me. Seems to have worked quite well so far!!

Anyone got any other suggestions?
