Hi,

I will be returning to work early next year and am currently looking at local childcare options. I recently visited Lullabelles in Menston and wondering does anyone send their child there or know of anyone who does?

This nursery has many advantages for me e.g. close to train station and opens early, however when I visited I became quite concerned about the strong smell of damp!

All the babies and children looked happy and healthy and surely their parents wouldn't send them there if there were any real health concerns - would they????

Childcare is proving to be a bit of a nightmare - I've been trying to get it sorted since the spring when I was pregnant, my baby's now 5 months old!

So if anyone knows this nursery or can offer any advice I would really appreciate it. Cheers

Hi

I've heard that Guiseley day nursery on the main road is really nice. Staffed by older people, who are really caring.

Don't know about Lullabelles, but I'd want to feel 100% happy with whatever childcare I'd organised for Frank. It is hard though.

Hi

My daughter has been going to Lullabells for the past two months and, I am really happy with them. The staff are fantastic.

I really like the mixture of staff and their differing levels of experience. They run different activities each day and, you get a written record of what your small person has done and eaten each day although I think that this is fairly standard across all nurseries.

All of the nappies are provided which is one less thing to think about each time ...

I've been following BLW which the nursery seem to follow and, they are happy for Miss H to stick to what I say she can have to eat although raisins have snuck into her diet by mistake!

The smell of damp in the stairwell is off - putting and, first impressions do count but, the attentiveness of the staff more than make up for this.

I would suggest that you really think about the day to day logistics of getting your child to nursery. Although we live in the village, we have to work out on a daily basis who has the car seat, who has the pram, who then has to walk up the village later in the evening to pick a car up etc ...

It's not an easy decision to make. Good luck.

The smell of damp also put me off but the staff seemed nice and the rest of the nursery didn't appear smelly. I decided not to take a place because my job situation has changed.
I have spoken to a couple of Mums/Dads who are very happy with Lullabels.
Have you thought about having a second visit and staying a bit longer?
Good luck, hope it works out

Realise this is an old thread. but wanted to give another vote for lulabels. My boy went there from 9 til 15 months and I was really happy with them (he left cause i got a job at airedale hospital and I wanted to have him at the on-site nursery there).
Yes the premises are a bit shabby but the staff are excellent. There was a baby in the room who would cry unless he was held all day...so they simply held him all day. They follow your baby's schedule, not theirs, and were so warm and loving to the babies. Really great and i would not hesitate to use them again if circumstances change...
