Congratulations! And welcome to MoorMums.

There is actually a new twins group in Menston - details here (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/mum-and-baby-groups/twins-group-menston/). You could contact the organisers now as they both have twins of their own. I'm sure they would love to offer help and advice.

All the best for a happy pregnancy.

Congratulations!! I would suggest it would be good to contact nct and do one of their pre birth courses. They are very thorough and are a great preparation for what to expect during the birth process. Its also a great way to meet other mums who are due at the same time who live close to you :)

I was nanny to twins, and had a college placement with triplets! It's so rewarding, and, yes a little harder to get out of the house than when there is just one, but it can be done with a bit of planning. Their Mum, and I kept a good routine going which was a god send. It meant they both napped at the same time, giving a couple of hours during the day to either put your own feet up, or make bottles up, etc.
If you wanted a little extra help you could consider phoning a college that trains students in childcare. They are often looking for placements for a term, a couple of days a week.

Hello,

Congratulations!

I don't have twins but I think any new mummy is excited and slightly terrified at the same time.

Very good advice given to you above - meet as many people in the same boat as yourself. It's good to share the experiences of a new mum and to find out all the differences between babies and that no two babies are the same; they all have their own little habits, likes and dislikes.

You are definately on the right track on this site. I wish someone had told me the following:

1) don't stock up too much on nappies. Different brands fit fatter/smaller babies! (think mumsnet do a guide).
2) don't buy everything new - huge waste of money. esp when they are little, nothing gets used very much so it stays very much new.
3) don't try to be super woman and do everything.
4) make sure you sleep when they sleep.

Best of luck.
