I would like to buy some more books to read to my 3 month old before bedtime. Has anyone any suggestions? Something that can last a few years would be great.

What about the Mr Man books - they are short and nicely/simply illustrated so you can use them now... and they will last so you can use them when C is learning to read.
I was given a Mr Mean book once...

George's (well mine probably!) favourites are rhyming books such as Peepo and Each Peach Pear Plum.

Frank's favourite book is 'Twinkle twinkle little star' because it has lots of shiny stars in it and mummy (me) knows the words off by heart.
Frank likes anything with shiny bits or fury or anything he can touch and try and put in his mouth.
I love the 'hungry caterpillar' book and 'when the tiger came for tea'. The old ones are the best!

I'd agree with Omen. Mr Men are good, you only realise how well they're written when you're reading them every night. We (Mummy) also loves Beatrix Potter and the Hungry Caterpilller. Salts Mill has a lovely bookshop, but you can get books very cheaply on Amazon marketplace. x

My 3.5yr old and my 17mnth old loved and still love the following-
- anything by Julia Donaldson, illustrations by Axel Scheffler (sp?) so... Grufflo, Gruffalo's Child, Smartest Giant in town, Tiddler, Stick Man, Snail and a Whale, Monkey Puzzle, Charlie Cook's Favourite Book etc.. etc. They are all brilliant!
The language is fantastic, fast-paced and fun- so can be enjoyed by little babies too. The illustrations are fab.
- Hug by Jez Alborough
- Tall by Jez Alborough
- Any Percy the Park Keeper story
- The tiger who came to tea
- We're going on a bear hunt
- Miffy books by Dick Bruna
- Dear Zoo
to name a few.........
Enjoy!

'That's not my .....' is a great series. They get different things from it as they grow up. I have fouund the library a great source of books. I live in Baildon and they are always changing the books so you never get bored.

We also like Giraffes Cant Dance and Aliens love Underpants... they're just fun and wonderfully colourful... couple of pounds each on Amazon. The library has worked out well for us too...

We love the 'That's not my...' series too. Frank has That's not my puppy, truck and tractor. He likes to read them to himself... he just sits and runs his fingers over the touchy feely bits on each page. They are great!
