Morning everyone,

As Jess suggested in the Pushchir walk thread I am organising a sponsored pushchair walk to raise money for Airedale Childrens Unit.

I'm going to suggest walking from Saltaire along the canal to Bingley & back. This gives us a couple of options depending on your level of fitness;
a) People can either walk to Dowley gap & back,
b) Walk to Bingley & get the train back to Saltaire
c) Walk to Bingley & walk back to Saltaire

I have contacted the Childrens Unit Appeal office & they are sending me some balloons & stickers for the prams. The link takes you to the appeals website where you can print posters or sponsorship forms. http://www.airedale-trust.nhs.uk/AboutUs/Fundraising.htm[URL="http://www.airedale-trust.nhs.uk/AboutUs/Fundraising.htm"[/URL]

If you can't print them let me know and I will print some out for you

I have talked to a Landlord in Saltaire who has said we can use his function room for feeding etc when we get back and I just need to confim something in Bingley.

So if anyone is interested please drop me an email nicoladobbie@hotmail.com & I will contact you with any further details

Thanks Nicola for getting this organised!!

I hope we raise lots of money for Airedale Children's Unit.

I'm just putting the details on in the events calendar (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/events/) on the website now. Let me know (http://www.moormums.co.uk/forum/sendmessage.php) as and when you have further details and I'll add them.

Thanks again.

hi Nic, great idea. We've done this walk a few times and it's very pleasant. There is always the option of doing it the other way round and meeting at my house, depending how many mums we have. I would suggest the cafe in the park for a feeding venue, but they don't have that much room. The Ferrands arms or the Brown Cow also have function rooms.
Hopefully see you soon

Would it be ok if older children come as it is the school hols?

As the walk is getting nearer I was wondering if anyone would like to participate?

Jess has done a fantastic job getting hold of the Fundraising team at Airedale hospital who have offered to send us some t-shirts, so I will need an idea of sizes/numbers so we can get them in time

Marie - I can't see any reason why older children wouldn't be able to join in....as long as they don't try to leap into the canal

Thanks,

Nic

Yes, we'd like to do the walk. Do we need sponsor forms? Can I do anything to help organise?
See you soon

Hi Louise

Yes, you do need a sponsorship form. Download it here (http://www.moormums.co.uk/whats-on/events/sponsored-pushchair-walk-saltaire/).

Yes, we'd love your help with organising!! If you could tell other mums about it and hand out sponsorship forms to them, that would be great.

You could also help us with putting posters out in Bingley.

Thanks for offering.

We really need as much help as possible with this sponsored walk! It is a great cause.

Airedale are giving us some free T-shirts to hand out. They are size 2/3 years (so might be a little bit big for tiny babies)! We've only got a few so we'll be handing them out on a first come first served basis!!

Nicola is on holiday at the moment, so if you've got any questions relating to the event, probably best to contact us (http://www.moormums.co.uk/forum/sendmessage.php).

Thanks

Jess

Hi - I am planning to come tomorrow - as long as we can get out of the house in time!!! I am also not 100% sure where I am going so will try to leave plenty of time. I have sent you a message Nicola, with my number, just in case plans have changed at all.

Hi Sarah,

That's great! A few other people are coming too who haven't emailed Nic.

Supposed to be nice weather tomorrow so should be a lovely walk.

We're taking a picnic to stay and have lunch in the park at Saltaire.

See you all tomorrow

Hi All

It was lovely to meet you all today, we were very lucky with the weather.

By the time I got home it was 7.45miles & will confess to being very hot!

Hopefully we have raised a good amount for the childrens unit

Hello

Louise has suggested that, as we've raised so much money, we should get one of those big cheques to hand over to the charity.

To do that, everyone would need to send their cheques to me.

Would that be ok.

Cheers

Thanks for those who took part. We raised £700 for the Airedale Children's Unit Appeal!
