Italian-style motherhood

Local mum-to-be Sheila has spent time in Nothern Italy and she shares with us what motherhood is like ‘Italian-style’.  Bella Mamma is a lovely snapshot of modern Italian life.

Doula feature

We’ve just published a special New Year feature on doulas – what they are and how they can help you.

We have got an interview with a local doula and two local mums share their experience of having a doula present at their birth.

Thank you very much to doula Hannah and mums Vicki and Lucy who contributed to this feature.

Christmas is here! Share your top tips.

ChristmasChristmas has got it’s shine back now that you’ve got a (or several) little one(s) to share it with!

There’s lots going on in our area from Christmas parties to Christmas markets and santa’s grottos to visit.

We’ve listed what we know about in the events calendar.

Please get in touch if you know of anything else going on – maybe your toddler group is having a Christmas special or your Church is running a family-friendly carol service.

Merry Christmas!

PS: Can you get away with not sending Christmas cards if you’ve just had a new baby??

Announcing the finalists of the MoorMums Funky Baby Competition

The judges (Lucy, Lynne and Vicki) have been working hard, looking through all the MoorMums Funky Baby entries.  They have now selected their 6 finalists.

It was really tough!  All the babies were very funky and we wish we had enough prizes to give out to all our entrants, but sadly, there can be only 6 finalists and 1 winner.

Thanks again for your entries.  It has been really fun!

Funky Baby – The judges are deliberating

The closing date for the MoorMums Funky Baby Competition has passed and now our 3 judges – Lucy Collinson from the NCT, Lynne O’Malley from Rhythm Time and Vicki Gilbert from Babies Can Sign – are carefully going through all the photos.  There is nothing more you can do now!!

They have all said how great they think all the photos are.  It is going to be a really tough challenge to choose the winners!

A full list of all the entries is available so you can see for yourself how funky our local babies are!

Best of luck!

Pushchair walks – all welcome!

buggy2Come along and join local pushchair walks on Tuesdays (Airedale side of the Moor) and on Thursdays (Wharfedale side of the Moor).

The walks take place each week whatever the weather (some people are just very keen!).

They are open to all carers of babies and  young children (of pushchair age) and well-behaved dogs (or other well-loved pets).

They are a great way to meet other mums/dads/… in an informal setting.  Each week the walk leaders make every effort to welcome new walkers.

You and your baby also get some fresh air – a well-known antedote to grumpiness (in babies) and low-mood.

For details of the walks – visit our events calendar.

If you would like to organise regular walks in your area, please get in touch and we will publish the details for you on the website.

Funky baby competition closes on Sunday!
