Daisy Birthing Programme

Lazy Daisy’s ‘Daisy Birthing’™ programme offers a unique birth preparation and baby calming programme for mums to be.

In addition, it offers a fantastic opportunity for mums passionate about birth, to reinvent their career and to become birth –mentors.

Originally formed by mum of five Julie Long in 2004, they now hold FEDANT approval and with high profile features in parenting publications such as Practical Parenting, and teachers spreading across the country, are considered one of the primary antenatal class choices.

The format is hugely accessible in terms of price point to parents (just £54 per 6 week course) and suitability of activities. Whilst the classes are movement based, they work with carefully researched routines which are even suitable for those mums with hip/back issues.

A Typical Class:

Combines 40 minutes of unique movements, birth breathing programme, hypnosis, birth metaphors and active birth education.

Beyond weekly classes there is also the opportunity to teach intensive workshops to couples and to progress to Daisy Baby training (a lyrical class for mum and baby, helping her to understand the calming reflex and how to comfort baby with movement, massage and white noise).

Who Can Teach?

Training is suitable for anyone who has given birth and who has a love of birth. It’s also ideal for those holding a birth relevant qualification (although this is not essential). You should be passionate about birth, have the ability to put others at ease and be relatively mobile (whilst you do not need to be super flexible – it’s not a pregnancy yoga class – you do need to be able to work on the floor and model certain movements).

The Training Programme:

You’ll be required to attend 3 weekends (50 hours) at their flagship studios in Ipswich or at the well know Jimmy’s Farm. In addition you’ll need to put in around the same number of hours on home study. Your final qualification will be issued on completion of a final exam.

How Much Can I Earn?

This depends on you. Some of the teachers have retrained for a part time career to fit around their children. Others have employed teaching staff (within 2 months of beginning their teaching).

Teaching classes and workshops can gross around £99 for 1hr 30minutes of teaching.
