MoorMum Angela from Otley says:

This baby carrier has a sturdy canvas ‘bib’, which supports the baby and adjustable straps that criss-cross over your back.

back-of-the-carrierWe were attracted to this carrier because the baby’s head would not be too enclosed by the carrier, and because the back straps are designed to distribute the baby’s weight evenly.  The carrier is also a nice design (there are different colour combinations available) and it is unisex enough for either my partner or I to wear it. Once the baby is in position he feels safe, his head is supported and you can use both arms to carry shopping or whatever….

It worked well when he was very small as his feet tucked into the carrier. Now that he is bigger it works just as well.

There are other ways of wearing the baby as he grows but we haven’t tried them as yet. There is also a little canvas hood, but I cant work out how you put it on. I tend to either put a hat on him or a muslin cloth over his head to keep the sun off.

The main downside to this carrier is that (depending on the mood of the baby) it can be a bit of a fiddle to get him into the correct position.  The more you do it, the easier it is for both you and the baby.  However, once in place he is very comfortable.  He can look out quite easily when awake and can snuggle in for a quick kip when he wants to as well.

His feet and arms are out of the sling, so this is good and bad (keeps him a bit cooler, however need to watch for  too much sun on bare skin and also I imagine in the cold weather we will need to make sure he doesn’t get too cold)

Walking up the Chevin or other exertion means that both parent and baby both get very hot and sticky, though i think this would happen with all front facing baby carriers.

I would recommend this carrier for baby and parent comfort and because it looks nice too!
