Opinion on this cafe is divided amoung local parents. Some parents highly recommend this cafe, the food and the clenliness of the baby change facilities. Others object stongly to the fact that under 5′s are banned from the back room and find the staff unwelcoming to children.
Mum Becky says: “Very friendly and accommodating to mums and buggies, also have baby change facilities and yummy cakes!”
Grandma Janet says: “I have been enjoying the company of my ever growing 15 month old granddaughter on Wednesday for the last 6 weeks and each week we have visited Smoooth and I cannot praise it enough. It’s amazing friendly and super efficient staff serve food/drinks from an exciting and not over priced menu. It has very good and child friendly facilities including a range of high/low chairs and tables. it is beautifully hygienic throughout and a pleasure to visit. I rate it excellent and I am very fussy about food/drink and the environment I will eat in. Smoooth ticks all my boxes and I hope you will recommend it on your website – they truly deserve it.”
Mum Hannah says: “I went to Smoooth today to give it a final shot with my hubby (I had had a bad experience previously). There were loads of children in there and a couple of mums with prams were about to go into the back section but read the notice and didn’t venture further. None of them seemed in the least offended strangely. However, the waitress made us feel rushed and unwanted to be honest although to be fair, my toddler had wet his pants, my baby was screaming and rejecting food and my husband and I had a fierce row. She also made a point when I came out of the toilet of insinuating I had bashed her with the door when in reality I opened it at -3 mph and looked tentatively round before I opened it.”
Mum Melanie says: “The cakes are great but I do always feel unwelcome when I go in there. It is much more relaxed at Cafe Nero. I would much rather support independent local cafes but the experience at Smoooth just isn’t very … smooth.”
Mum Frankie says: “There is always a warm welcome when you arrive and they are very accommodating whatever the circumstances. Quite a busy environment but don’t let that put you off as the staff will always try to make things easier with prams etc.. And also some lovely food and drinks to go along with it!! definitely recommend it.”
